Lucille D. Evans Subjects: Piano, Theory 427 Townline Rd. N
Mrs. Evans has taught piano, including the A.R.C.T. level, as well as theory for over 40 years. She currently teaches privately from her home studio, as well as having taught senior piano at Kingsway College for four years.
An active pianist, as well as a vocal and instrumental accompanist, Mrs. Evans accompanied the church orchestra for twenty - five years, before taking over it's leadership for an additional five years. Having studied with Josephine Parrott as her main instructor in the early years, lead to completion of her Associateship in piano pedagogy. Subsequently she spent 15 years of summer schools at the Royal Conservatory of Music. After completing her Associateship in piano performance, she spent ten years in the study of senior piano repertoire with Earle Moss of Toronto. Mrs. Evans has held various offices and is an active member of the Oshawa and District branch of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers since becoming a member in 1965. Her pupils are consistent winners at various music festivals in the Oshawa, Ajax and Pickering area. In addition, her students are consistently awarded high First Class Honours and First Class Honours with Distinction in their Piano and theory examinations from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto. Six piano pupils have been awarded a silver medal from the Royal Conservatory for their piano examinations. Mrs. Evans is constantly alert for new pedagogical material to share with her pupils, who range in age from five to adulthood. She enjoys reading and studying new piano repertoire for her pupils of all levels of study. Living in the western area of Courtice, adjacent to the city of Oshawa, Mrs. Evans welcomes all serious inquiries concerning the study of music.
